First launched in 1971, Tignanello quickly became a pioneer by breaking traditional winemaking rules. As one of the first "Super Tuscans," it marked a new era for Tuscan wines that blended high-quality grape varieties with innovative techniques. The wine takes its name from the Tignanello vineyard, located in the heart of the Chianti Classico region of Tuscany. It is made predominantly from Sangiovese, Tuscany's signature grape variety, and complemented with non-traditional grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon. Aging in French oak barrels imparts additional flavors and exceptional complexity to Tignanello.
